The 12 Recs Of Christmas: Christmas Eve Pajamas

If you’re like a particular sect of middle America – that is, the sect that uses Pinterest obsessively, you may know how Christmas has, in the select few homes of people who have a lot of extra ambition lying around and few outlets for it, there are glorious Christmases. The kind of celebrations that put Martha Stewart the shame, the type of Christmas that makes you feel bad about your own Christmas. The kinds of Christmases that I will never see simply because I am just too lazy.

The worst part about those Christmases is that they make it all look so easy. Like “Oh, who me? Yes it just took me sixty five perfect cuts to get all of these Darth Vadar shaped snowflakes to be just perfect. And I had painted a reclaimed wooden box that I soldered together and filled with hand picked holly. Anyone can do it, really!”

I respect and fear these people.

However, there is one fairly adorable tradition that I do enjoy – the Christmas Eve pajamas.

Yes, Christmas Eve is the perfect time to get funky, cute, festive, matchy, or just plain weird. This is the perfect present for family members, especially little kids that jusT WANT TO UNRAP SOMETHING, PLEASEEE! Depending on your plans for the day, you can do this however you want – hand them out right before bedtime, in the middle of the afternoon, before dinner, whatever works best for you. After you do, however, be sure to change right into them and let the Christmas fun begin!

Here are some of my best suggestions below.

For the Chef in the family – or if you’re going to be doing any serious baking, I recommend this adorable cupcake onesie which you can get here. The model is a woman, but the sizes run fairly big.

For the whole family – if you want everybody to match, this is your best bet – there are lots of styles for everyone, including dogs and dolls (which seems oddly specific and slightly creepy, but hey – it’s Christmas and I won’t judge.)

You can never go wrong with plaid – it’s a perfectly festive print that can be worn year round and not look weird. I’ve picked a fairly classic style as well that you can find pretty much anywhere -though these Splendid pajamas are extremely adorable.

Next up is for our Jewish friends – sorry that you guys get the short end of the stick this time of the year. I know Hanukkah is long over, but you can keep the season going with this adorable fleece onesie (that also comes in kid’s sizes!) Enjoy your December 24th in style with this cute pick.

What’s Christmas without a little Grinch-y fun? This onesie is perfect for the Grinch in your life.
